Easy access to Golden Hip Hop

I came across quite a good website from where you can download quality hip hop albums either for free or by buying them. All albums have full track lists, album covers, youtube links for previews, some info on the artists and of course great quality.

The websites FAQ states the following: "What does this blog represent?
This blog is about letting people know what are the roots of Hip-Hop music and how those roots were developed by numerous hip-hop artists. The content on this blog is permanently expanding with released albums from various hip-hop artists by provinding file sharing links, but please be advised that the albums you download are only for informational purposes!"

The website can be accessed here.

Happy digging!

Wackness: Hip Hop vs House

According to wikipedia the mix of house and hip hop is called hip house. I am not really feeling all these hip hop cats making these house tunes.

Here are some examples:

UPDATE: 23/07/2011

Ludacris & Taio Cruz have linked up with David Guetta for another wack hip hop / house tune.

Check out my man Kid Just Play's blog: Gutter Rainbows

Action Bronson

I mentioned this cat in a previous blog. This guy is a new rapper on the scene from New York bringing back that oldschool new york flavour that the scene is missing. A lot of people call him the "white ghostface killah" because of his flow and his stream of conciousness rap style.

Make sure to check out his album Dr Lecter. Click here for a review of his album.

UPDATE: Pitchfork media have reviewed the Dr Lecter album and given it a 8.1 which is AMAZING by their standards. Check the interview here

Here are some of his tracks from his album:

He gets on his reggae flex with this track:

He collaborated with my fav producer check it out here:

The Obamas Know How To Dance

Pitchfork Media

Standard pickfork media giving Tyler the Creator's - Goblin an 8 out of 10. The album is ok but definitely not an 8 out of 10 and is deffo not on the same league as Action Bronson's - Dr Lecter. The album is deffo worth a listen if you want some " deconstruction and sonic disorder" (Hip Hop DX) you should give the album a listen. I would love to have a sit down with the staff of Pitchfork Media to have a discussion about Hip Hop.

Check out the review here

Wackness - Snoop Dogg and Charlie Sheen - Winning

Snoop Dogg did a track with Charlie Sheen .....*slap head*. Check it out.

Wackness - Dr Dre Detox

Dr Dre made it seem that he was going to release Detox on 420:

Tbh I don't think Dre is ever going to release this puppy and the two singles that he has released so far have been mediocre. The video/beat for kush were tight but what was up with the feature from akon? Should have brought Devin the dude or Nate Dogg (before he passed away) on the track.

Dr Dre - 2001 was one of the first hardcore hip hop records that I heard and to this day will probably always be one of my favourite albums of all time. I have been waiting 12 years for the sequel I just hope he doesn't disappoint ......

Beatboxing is a key element of hip hop so here a few beatboxing videos I have seen over the years:

Rahzel("Godfather of Noyze") is one of the original beatboxers and was one of the first to beatbox and sing at the SAME TIME!!

This french guy made some ways with his beatbox performance on french xfactor type thing:

This german kid is pretty tight and tight video

This guy beatboxes and plays the flute....DOPE!

This guy beatboxes and plays the harminoca .... SUPER DOPE!

4 minute hip hop history ..... INSANELY DOPE!

Nothing super new but thought it was cool that he beatboxed some lion king

I have to give props to will smith for his beatboxing
